Learn how to use the term ‘nailed it’ today!

This term was first used in 1894 in a newspaper, actually! It was used to describe an athlete who did something perfectly, or, nailed it. source

It’s popular use today started online in 1998, and quickly spread to many internet memes. source

Although those are often sarcastic, to label epic fails, I still usually use it positively. Watch the video for native pronunciation!

To be completely honest, you will hear natives, usually dudes, use ‘nail’ with a person. This is a euphemism for having sex with someone. Don’t use it! It’s rude, but you’ll hear it TV and movies. source

It’s also used as a verb when the police catch/arrest someone.
